How it works

1. You choose your inner circle, your “people.”2. Each friendship becomes a shared space only if both people opt in. This helps the relationship stay mutual.3. The app offers gentle guidance on cadence. Not scorekeeping, just a nudge when too much time has passed.

Privacy Policy — Friendship RitualEffective date: January 26, 2026Friendship Ritual (“Friendship Ritual,” “we,” “us”) is a mobile app published by North Star Ventures LLC that helps you nurture 1:1 friendships. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.1) Information we collect

Information you provideAccount information: email address (stored normalized/lowercased) and password (your password is handled by our authentication provider; we do not store your password in plain text).Profile information (optional): display name, birthday, city, state, and profile photo (if you choose to add one).Friendship and interaction data: invites you send/receive, friendships created, and interaction logs (e.g., activity type, points, timestamps).B. Information collected automaticallyWhen you use the app, our service providers may automatically receive basic technical information such as device identifiers, IP address, and app performance/log data (for security, reliability, and troubleshooting).2) How we use your informationWe use information to:Create and manage your account and authenticate youEnable core features (invites, friendships, interaction logging, rollups/summaries)Provide customer support and respond to requestsMaintain security, prevent abuse, and debug issuesImprove app performance and user experience (for example, by reviewing aggregated or de-identified usage patterns)3) How information is shared

With other users (your connections)Friendship Ritual is a social product, so some information is shared as part of normal operation:If you send a friendship invite, the recipient may see your name and email (or the info associated with your invite).Once a friendship is created, your friend can see relationship-related information needed for the experience (for example, that a friendship exists and certain interaction summaries that power the UI).Your friend may also see your display name and/or email as part of identifying who the friendship is with (depending on what you’ve provided and what the UI displays).B. With service providersWe use third-party services to operate Friendship Ritual, such as:Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database, and Storage)These providers process information on our behalf to deliver the service and are permitted to use it only for that purpose.C. Legal and safetyWe may disclose information if required by law, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with legal process or protect the rights, safety, and security of Friendship Ritual, our users, or others.D. We do not sell your personal informationWe do not sell your personal information to third parties.4) Invitations to non-usersIf you attempt to invite someone who is not on Friendship Ritual, we may show you a share option (e.g., text message) so you can send them a download link. We do not create an in-app invite record for people who are not registered users.5) Data retentionWe keep your information as long as needed to provide the service or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., security and dispute resolution), unless a longer retention period is required by law.6) Account deletionYou can request deletion of your account in the app (Settings → Delete account).When you delete your account, we delete your account profile data and associated app data as described in the deletion flow. Some information may remain in backups for a limited period, but will be removed in the normal backup cycle.Because Friendship Ritual involves shared relationships, deletion may affect other users’ views. For example:You will no longer appear in other users’ friend lists, andRelationship-related items (friendships/interactions involving your account) may be removed from the product experience for remaining users.7) SecurityWe use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.8) Children’s privacyFriendship Ritual is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.9) International usersIf you use Friendship Ritual outside the United States, your information may be processed and stored in countries where our service providers operate. By using Friendship Ritual, you consent to this processing.10) Changes to this policyWe may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. account deletion

If you delete your account, we’ll remove your profile and account data from Friendship Ritual.Please note: because Friendship Ritual is shared with friends, deleting your account may remove related friendship and interaction records from the app experience for your friends too.This action is permanent.
